It’s SO hard to believe there are less than 10 weeks left in the year. Not to sound too cliche’ but…where does the time go? When you’re young, time drags and you think you’re never going to get older and then you do…and wish you could go back. That’s why I’m SO thrilled I agreed to be a part of this project. Even if I don’t find time to do it every single week, at least it’s one to two times per month and I’m documenting my OWN kids. Love these little souls…to the moon and back.
Keep the blog circle going by visiting the very talented Julie Livermore‘s blog…she’s got some gorgeous shots of FALL scenery and leaves…oh and her gorgeous boys too.

Here we go again…there is this thing called “life” and “time” that’s keeping me from taking weekly pics of the kids! I am finding that once monthly is more like it…and I’m ok with that! The more the better, obviously but for now this will do.
One child was a bit more cooperative than the other…can you guess which one?
Just a quick, obligatory smile of the little mister this time. LOVING how my Lulu’s shot turned out!

Flaky newborn skin. Newborn wrinkles. Little yawns. Little fingers. Little toes. Sweet newborn sighs and smiles. Oh the perks of being a photographer! How blessed am I to capture all of these beautiful, cherished and fleeting moments?
I am flattered every day that beautiful families such as this one trust me to capture THEIR moments to remember and display for years to come.
Now get ready for a barrage of images…
PS: do you believe all of this hair??? it’s amazing!
So alert for 4 weeks of age! She had the best expressions as you can see…
Big sister is FULL OF PERSONALITY and had me laughing the entire time! What a JOY! She had some special Daddy/daughter time while Mom fed and settled baby A.
She was such a great little model that I got a little carried away, as you can see! Her reward? Holding her baby sister alone (almost) for the first time!
You made it this far? Rock on! Thanks for reading and looking!
On a side note, I am nearly fully booked for 2014 and booking well into 2015. If you’d like to get on the calendar for a session, please contact me asap! EMAIL——> email@example.com

I cannot express enough to you how absolutely sweet this family is! Not only are they all beautiful to look at, but they are all truly beautiful on the inside as well.
Hands down, this may be the easiest photo session I’ve ever had that included children.
I met this sweet family through my children’s preschool. The youngest was in my son’s preschool class and is such. a. doll! So petite and gentle. Her older sister is just as sweet and got along so well with my daughter in summer camp a few years ago. It’s no wonder they are this way, their mom is so true and genuine! Still getting to know dad, as he’s a bit quiet, but I can see why they are together. As the title implies, they are just wonderful through and through!
In other news, I’m almost completely booked for the remainder of the year. It blows me away how wonderful and loyal my clients are! I have families booking with me for the FIFTH year in a row! I truly LOVE my job and to say i’m blessed is an understatement. If you’re interested in booking a session before the holidays, please contact me ASAP!

Who says summer is over? It’s still H O T down here in Southwest Florida. I LOVE underwater photography and have been working on it all summer. With my kids as subjects, of course. They love to swim and it’s often difficult to get them out of the water, which works to MY advantage with getting some shots!
If you’re just joining me, I am posting personal photos each week (most weeks!) along with a group of wonderful photographers! Make sure to continue our circle by visiting my friend, Overland Park Photographer, Carrie Terrones and follow the links until you circle back to my page. It amazes me the amount of talent that’s out there!

Oh. My. Heart! Emma came to me last week and asked if she could use my backup camera to do a photoshoot with her “girls” (her American Girl Dolls–she’s obsessed, to put it lightly). She had it all planned in her head: she would do it outside against the tree with the sun behind them. Well, we went outside where it was sweltering hot and a big cicada flew past us and she said “maybe we should do it inside!” So inside we went. She took one look at the high back love seat in our front living room and said “That can be their backdrop!” I gave her a quick tutorial of how manual works, set up everything and told her to watch the meter and keep it centered, then showed her how to toggle the focus and she did great! Here is a shot of her in action.
And some photos SHE took! I love how she used the rule of thirds! These are SOOC (straight out of camera) minus sharpening and resizing for the web!
And of course little brother had to get in on the action. He picked up the Argus 75 and loved looking through it. He quickly discovered you have to have good light to see the image and was telling me what he saw through it. Proud mommy moment with both of my kids asking about photography!

Well it seems summer has thrown me off a tad and I missed a few weeks BUT I am not going to dwell on that. I am just happy that I am participating in such an awesome project with brilliant photographers and the best part is capturing memories of my children every week!
Let’s start with my girl, she was so cooperative this week for some “posed” pics and I LOVE the outcome! She’s so pretty. I can’t believe how mature she is looking these days! Slow down, time!
My little guy was not so into the “posed” pics this time. So I caught a few of him, then had to catch him on the go. Which I love anyway. I love his sweet little heart and how when he sees me, he stops to smile…no matter what I’m doing. And give me a “kiss” through the air. Sigh.

I have been wanting to do this for a long time. My kids LOVE their “friends” and I wanted to document the love before they’re too old to love them anymore. My little guy is holding his “plu bear” which was given to him by his Nana and he’s had since he’s an infant! My girl is holding her “tonca bunny” also given to her by her Nana. This bunny is SO special to her since she and her Nana have a special bond. <3

I’m back from a 3 week vacation! I’ve missed some posts, but i’m back at it this week! We visited MI, as we do every summer, and I am a tad ashamed to admit that I did not bust out my big girl camera very often! I really wanted to get a pretty photo of my baby girl in the field though. Mission accomplished there. I didn’t take much of my little guy while on vacation, but when we returned, he proclaimed that he had missed all of his “stuff” so much and started getting it all out! Among the things he took out, was this cape and mask that he got from a birthday party. Too cute. I am savoring these younger and more innocent days…I can’t believe my “baby” starts Kindergarten next month!

Summertime is in full swing here in the Dodge household, and when the kids aren’t at camp, swimming in the pool or playing outside, they can be found doing the following:
August: playing with cars and ramps, playing with the Snap Circuit (and quite well), watching HotWheels Car videos on YouTube OR play the “boat game” on XBox, which requires quite a bit physical activity, or reading.
Emma: dancing, singing, painting or drawing, making elaborate make believe set ups with either her Barbies or American Girl Dolls, or reading.
Some days I am a bit sad that they don’t “need” me as much and other days I am so happy that they can occupy themselves! At least they still let me take their pictures.
