Big Bright Eyes {Fort Myers Newborn Photographer}

Wednesday, September 24th, 2014

Flaky newborn skin. Newborn wrinkles. Little yawns. Little fingers. Little toes. Sweet newborn sighs and smiles. Oh the perks of being a photographer! How blessed am I to capture all of these beautiful, cherished and fleeting moments?

I am flattered every day that beautiful families such as this one trust me to capture THEIR moments to remember and display for years to come.

Now get ready for a barrage of images…

PS: do you believe all of this hair??? it’s amazing!

So alert for 4 weeks of age! She had the best expressions as you can see…

Big sister is FULL OF PERSONALITY and had me laughing the entire time! What a JOY! She had some special Daddy/daughter time while Mom fed and settled baby A. :)

She was such a great little model that I got a little carried away, as you can see! Her reward? Holding her baby sister alone (almost) for the first time!

You made it this far? Rock on! Thanks for reading and looking!

On a  side note, I am nearly fully booked for 2014 and booking well into 2015. If you’d like to get on the calendar for a session, please contact me asap!  EMAIL——>

To The Moon and Back | Week 34

Tuesday, August 26th, 2014

Oh. My. Heart! Emma came to me last week and asked if she could use my backup camera to do a photoshoot with her “girls” (her American Girl Dolls–she’s obsessed, to put it lightly). She had it all planned in her head: she would do it outside against the tree with the sun behind them. Well, we went outside where it was sweltering hot and a big cicada flew past us and she said “maybe we should do it inside!” So inside we went. She took one look at the high back love seat in our front living room and said “That can be their backdrop!” I gave her a quick tutorial of how manual works, set up everything and told her to watch the meter and keep it centered, then showed her how to toggle the focus and she did great! Here is a shot of her in action.

And some photos SHE took! I love how she used the rule of thirds! These are SOOC (straight out of camera) minus sharpening and resizing for the web!

And of course little brother had to get in on the action. He picked up the Argus 75 and loved looking through it. He quickly discovered you have to have good light to see the image and was telling me what he saw through it. Proud mommy moment with both of my kids asking about photography!

To The Moon and Back | Week 32

Tuesday, August 12th, 2014

Well it seems summer has thrown me off a tad and I missed a few weeks BUT I am not going to dwell on that. I am just happy that I am participating in such an awesome project with brilliant photographers and the best part is capturing memories of my children every week!

Let’s start with my girl, she was so cooperative this week for some “posed” pics and I LOVE the outcome! She’s so pretty. I can’t believe how mature she is looking these days! Slow down, time!

My little guy was not so into the “posed” pics this time. So I caught a few of him, then had to catch him on the go. Which I love anyway. I love his sweet little heart and how when he sees me, he stops to smile…no matter what I’m doing. And give me a “kiss” through the air. Sigh.

To The Moon and Back | Week 29

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014

I have been wanting to do this for a long time. My kids LOVE their “friends” and I wanted to document the love before they’re too old to love them anymore. My little guy is holding his “plu bear” which was given to him by his Nana and he’s had since he’s an infant! My girl is holding her “tonca bunny” also given to her by her Nana. This bunny is SO special to her since she and her Nana have a special bond. <3

To The Moon and Back | Week 28

Tuesday, July 15th, 2014

I’m back from a 3 week vacation! I’ve missed some posts, but i’m back at it this week! We visited MI, as we do every summer, and I am a tad ashamed to admit that I did not bust out my big girl camera very often! I really wanted to get a pretty photo of my baby girl in the field though. Mission accomplished there. I didn’t take much of my little guy while on vacation, but when we returned, he proclaimed that he had missed all of his “stuff” so much and started getting it all out! Among the things he took out, was this cape and mask that he got from a birthday party. Too cute. I am savoring these younger and more innocent days…I can’t believe my “baby” starts Kindergarten next month! :(

To The Moon and Back | Week 24

Tuesday, June 17th, 2014

Summertime is in full swing here in the Dodge household, and when the kids aren’t at camp, swimming in the pool or playing outside, they can be found doing the following:

August: playing with cars and ramps, playing with the Snap Circuit (and quite well), watching HotWheels Car videos on YouTube OR play the “boat game” on XBox, which requires quite a bit physical activity, or reading.

Emma: dancing, singing, painting or drawing, making elaborate make believe set ups with either her Barbies or American Girl Dolls, or reading.

Some days I am a bit sad that they don’t “need” me as much and other days I am so happy that they can occupy themselves! At least they still let me take their pictures. :D

SCHOOL’S (almost) OUT FOR SUMMER! Two more days of school left…and I have some excited kiddos! This is likely where we’ll spend a LOT of our summer. It’s too hot not to be in the water down here!

To The Moon and Back | Week 11/52

Monday, March 17th, 2014

Another reason I LOVE doing this blog circle? I get to do what I want to do and experiment. This week I experimented with low and dramatic window light and black and white conversions. LOVE how they turned out. Are  they grainy from the low light? Yep. I love what it adds to the photos.

Moody. Dramatic. Black and White. Love them.

And babies make 5…{Fort Myers Maternity and Newborn Photographer}

Tuesday, October 1st, 2013

How is it possible i’ve been in business almost five years and never had the opportunity to photograph TWINS?!?! Well, my luck has changed! :)

Can you believe how beautiful this mama is? She is 35 weeks pregnant with twins in these photos…what??? I didn’t look that good with one baby…wait…I don’t look that good NOT pregnant!

Ah em…excuse the image overload…I simply could not narrow it down anymore!

First up, my fav from the shoot. I had plans for this shot, then big brother peeked through…and I captured it! What a sweet face…

This here is truly mom’s personality…she is always smiling and happy. I never ONCE heard her complain throughout her pregnancy…even at 40+ weeks…did I mention she is having twins??

This is one of my favorites from the shoot…Oh the face! OH the light! Oh the sailboat! (yes it’s real and was really there!)

Not one to normally over edit, I really wanted to try something different with this shot. The sky was really pretty but the water brown. So I decided to do some color overlay to spruce up the water color and it blossomed from there. And yes, the birds are real. What really struck me was that there were TWO birds. Oh the symbolism. :)

And after many weeks of waiting (over 40!), Stella and Eden made their debut. They are both so precious and so different!

I saved this collage for last. Every time I look at this series I just DIE LAUGHING! I don’t think I need to narrate the sequence of events here…the images speak for themselves!!

Bless you if you’ve made it this far! I hope you enjoyed this beautiful family…I truly had the best time capturing their story!
